Allentown Sinkhole Closes Chew Street
On September 11, 2017, an Allentown sinkhole closed Chew Street, according to scanner reports. Chew Street was closed between Church Street and Seventh Street to work on the Allentown sinkhole. No car accidents have been reported due to the sinkhole and traffic has since been restored. It appears as though the sinkhole was related to an older water pipe. The city of Allentown did a great job of repairing this sinkhole danger without anyone suffering an injury.
