Allentown Tractor-Trailer Accident Closes I-78
On May 19, 2017, a 5-vehicle Allentown tractor-trailer accident closed I-78. The truck accident caused a severe fire. Police said five motor vehicles were involved in the I-78 accident. The crash happened near the Lenhartsville exit in Greenwich Township. Both I-78 lanes were closed over night. According to Pennsylvania State Police, a tractor-trailer truck failed to stop in time – hitting a Mercedes sedan along with the truck in front of him. This caused a chain reaction accident involving five vehicles. Sadly, several personal injuries were reported.
