A car crashed with a motorcycle on 309 sending both individuals on the motorcycle to the hospital suffering from severe personal injury. The Allentown motorcycle accident took place at the 2600 block of Route 309. The motorcycle driver suffered skull fractures and a broken pelvis. Additionally, his passenger broke several bones in her legs, pelvis, collarbone and ribs. South Whitehall police were on the scene of the motorcycle accident at approximately 7:00 p.m. Area traffic was delayed for several hours due to the Allentown personal injury accident.

They were transported by helicopter to St. Luke’s University Hospital – Fountain Hill, in critical condition. Fire police shut down Route 145 between Route 248 and Alder Drive while paramedics attended to the injured and township police conducted their motorcycle accident investigation. Route 145 was reopened around 11:00 p.m. that night.

The young man is in serious condition due to personal injuries suffered as a result of the motorcycle accident. Upper Macungie Township Police are investigating the crash.

On April 11, 2017, Carlos Hernandez suffered a wrongful death in a motorcycle accident. An Allentown resident, Hernandez was riding his motorcycle at the intersection of State Street and Lyons Road in Berks County, Pennsylvania. Pennsylvania State Police said Hernandez was hit by a motor vehicle attempting a left hand turn. Sadly, Hernandez was thrown off his motorcycle and suffered an abrupt wrongful death, as he was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. The intersection was closed for about four hours after the motorcycle accident. The Pennsylvania State Police are investigating.
