Sadly, an Allentown tractor-trailer accident killed one man on I-78 on October 4, 2017. Two semi truck tractor-trailers collided with one another on Interstate 78 near Allentown PA. The driver of one of the semi trucks was transported to Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest. Sadly, the Lehigh County Coroner pronounced his death the next day. The driver was pinned in his cab after the Allentown truck accident, but was extricated and rushed to Lehigh Valley Hospital. Police have an ongoing investigation into the Allentown accident.
Sadly, a Philadelphia area wrongful death car accident closed Route 30 in Chester County on September 27, 2017. A car slammed into a tractor-trailer around 11 p.m. causing a man to be ejected from his car and killed at the scene of the Philadelphia wrongful death accident. Pennsylvania State Police responded to the auto accident and closed Route 30 for several hours. Police diverted traffic to Route 322. This wrongful death accident remains under investigation.
Sadly, a truck accident on Interstate-78 killed a 25-year-old man. The truck accident took place on I-78 traveling eastbound outside of Allentown PA on September 20, 2017. The deceased hit a disabled tractor-trailer semi truck according to the Lehigh County Coroner’s office. The victim was transported to Lehigh Valley Hospital – Cedar Crest, where he died of cervical spine personal injuries. Two people were trapped in the motor vehicle and were freed by the fire rescue crew. Interstate 78’s eastbound lanes were shut down until approximately 11:00 p.m. Pennsylvania State Police are continuing their investigation of this I-78 accident.
26 passengers were sent to the hospital on August 20, 2017 when a tractor-trailer auto accident took place on Interstate 78 in Easton PA. The tractor-trailer semi truck caused a bus accident around 3:30 a.m. in Northampton County, PA. According to Pennsylvania State Police, both motor vehicles were traveling eastbound. A spokesperson for St. Luke’s University Hospital said three passengers remain in the Bethlehem hospital with serious personal injuries but thankfully; none of them are in critical condition. Additionally, ten passengers were taken to the Lehigh Valley Hospital in Allentown for minor personal injuries. The Easton bus accident scene on I-78 was cleared around 5:10 a.m.
Sadly, on July 7, 2017, Martin Moyer fell victim to a wrongful death accident in Robin’s Diner. Mr. Moyer was sitting in Robin’s Diner around 8:40 AM when a pair of tractor-trailer semi truck tires crashed through a window at the diner and struck Moyer. This premises liability accident lead to the unfortunate wrongful death of Mr. Moyer. Martin Moyer was transported to the Lehigh valley Hospital where the Lehigh County Coroner pronounced him dead at around 5:35 PM. At this time, Pennsylvania State Police do not have a news release regarding this incident.
On May 19, 2017, a 5-vehicle Allentown tractor-trailer accident closed I-78. The truck accident caused a severe fire. Police said five motor vehicles were involved in the I-78 accident. The crash happened near the Lenhartsville exit in Greenwich Township. Both I-78 lanes were closed over night. According to Pennsylvania State Police, a tractor-trailer truck failed to stop in time – hitting a Mercedes sedan along with the truck in front of him. This caused a chain reaction accident involving five vehicles. Sadly, several personal injuries were reported.
On May 6, 2017, a Bethlehem car accident took place on Interstate 78 near Route 33. The car accident slowed traffic on Interstate 78 between Route 33 and Route 412. The car crash took place around 3:15 p.m. A vehicle ended up underneath the back of tractor-trailer. By 5:00 p.m., both lanes of I 78 were open and traffic was moving once again. It is currently unknown if anyone suffered personal injuries as a result of the Bethlehem car accident.
On March 27, 2017, a tractor-trailer accident knocked down power lines in Moore Township, north of Bethlehem Pa. Hundreds of properties in the area lost power because of the tractor-trailer crash. The truck accident occurred on Monday evening on Route 512. According to Northampton County 911 dispatch, there were no serious personal injures reported. Thankfully, most homes had their power restored by 11:30 p.m.
On March 22, 2017, a car crashed under a tractor-trailer on Tatamy Road outside Easton Pa. The car accident happened after 8:30 a.m. The car diver suffered personal injuries and was transported to the hospital. The tractor-trailer truck was on the way to the Amazon warehouse located one mile from the accident scene. Tatamy Road was closed for several hours due to the truck accident.
Another trucking company plans to open a tractor-trailer truck facility around Bethlehem, PA. The Canadian trucking company is diligencing sites along Brodhead Road and Route 309 in Bethlehem. The trucking company plans to hire 25 truck drivers in the next three months. Like many Lehigh Valley trucking companies, the central location and proximity to major interstates makes Bethlehem an attractive location for a trucking company.
