Route 22 Car Accident causes Allentown Wrongful Death

A 49-year-old man suffered his wrongful death in an Allentown car accident on Route 22 on June 19, 2018. The Phillipsburg man was killed in a car accident involving a dump truck on Route 22 around 2:20 p.m. The deceased was transported to Lehigh Valley Hospital – Cedar Crest where he was pronounced dead by the Lehigh County Coroner. A car was crushed in the 3-vehicle collision. The Allentown car accident took place west of the Northeast Extension overpass. Route 22 East was closed near Route 309 while the Pennsylvania State Police investigated the Route 22 accident. All highway traffic lanes were opened around 8:00 p.m. The Lehigh County District Attorney is also investigating the Allentown car accident. Read more

A 35-year-old man suffered his Allentown wrongful death in a motorcycle accident on Seventh Street Allentown on June 9, 2018. The Allentown motorcycle accident took place when the motorcyclist and a Lincoln SUV collided near 7th Street and Greenleaf Street in center city Allentown. The motorcycle driver was transported to Lehigh Valley Hospital – Cedar Crest for serious Allentown personal injury. Wrongful Death Pronounced at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest

A 75-year-old man suffered a wrongful death accident when his RV stove malfunctioned on June 3, 2018. The Lehigh County Coroner pronounced the man dead at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest according to the morgue manager. Sadly, the 75-year-old man sustained serious burns as a result of the fire. His wrongful death was ruled an accident. The RV fire broke out around 6:00 a.m. when he attempted to light the pilot light on a stove in the RV. There is no word as to whether the stove malfunctioned due to some sort of product liability. Read more

Allentown Personal Injury and Wrongful Death on Morning Call Premises

A Florida man suffered his wrongful death in an Allentown workplace accident at The Morning Call on May 29, 2018. The victim was a 32-year-old male from Cape Coral Florida who worked for Britton Services Inc., a machinery company based in Belvidere, Illinois. The Lehigh County Coroner stated the deceased died of multiple blunt-force traumas. A Lehigh Valley firefighter was killed when his motorcycle was struck by an SUV on May 25, 2018. The motorcycle accident took place around 4:15 p.m. when a black SUV struck a Jeep, then the victim’s motorcycle. The deceased is a lifetime member of the Charotin Hose Co. No. 1 which protects North Catasauqua and the greater Lehigh Valley. The police investigation of the motorcycle accident shut down Maidencreek Road for over eight hours. Easton Personal Injury Electrocution Leads to Wrongful Death

An Easton wrongful death electrocution took place in a church on May 15, 2018. A 76-year-old man was electrocuted while working in the attic crawl space of Life Church on 4609 Newburg Road in Nazareth PA. Sadly, he suffered his Lehigh Valley wrongful death around 1:00 p.m. The Northampton County Coroner pronounced the man dead at the electrocution accident scene. The Coroner’s office, Colonial Regional police and the federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) are investigating the Lehigh Valley wrongful death electrocution accident. Train Accident Causes Wrongful Death in Allentown

An Allentown train accident caused the wrongful death of a 35-year-old Macungie man on May 4, 2018. The Lehigh County coroner was called to the train accident scene after a pedestrian was struck by a Norfolk Southern train around 2:30 p.m. The mixed freight train was traveling from Allentown PA to Alabama. The train accident took place near the 1100 block of Chestnut Street. The Lehigh County coroner has scheduled an autopsy for Monday morning. An Allentown personal injury accident took place on Werley’s Corner Road on May 2, 2018. Sadly, a fatal I-78 car accident took place on March 16, 2018, west of Allentown PA around 6:30 a.m. A man died after his car was stuck by a minivan that had caused a prior car accident on Interstate 78. Pennsylvania State Police reported to the scene of the I-78 auto accident. The driver was transported to Lehigh Valley Hospital in Allentown where he suffered his wrongful death. Lehigh Tunnel Accident Kills Tractor-Trailer Truck Driver on I-476

A Semi truck driver suffered his wrongful death in the Lehigh Tunnel when an electrical pole crashed through his windshield on February 21, 2018. The Lehigh Valley truck accident killed the 70-year-old truck driver on Interstate 476 around 6:00 p.m. The Lehigh County coroner will perform an autopsy to determine the cause of death. The tractor-trailer truck was driving southbound on the Northeast Extension in Lehigh County. The southbound highway lanes of the Lehigh Tunnel were closed for several hours due to this horrible Lehigh Valley tractor-trailer accident. A man was killed on Interstate 78 due to an Allentown tractor-trailer accident on January 7, 2018. The 68-year-old man was pronounced dead by the Lehigh County coroner’s office at the scene of the Allentown accident around 1:15 p.m. Pennsylvania State Police said the man’s SUV was wedged under the rear of the tractor-trailer semi truck parked on I-78. Sadly, an I-78 tractor-trailer accident left at least one dead around 6:00 a.m. on December 5, 2017. Interstate 78 was closed for about an hour by a four-vehicle wrongful death accident. A tractor-trailer semi truck and a seven-passenger van crashed on I-78 East. According to state police, one person was dead and there could be additional personal injuries. Sadly, an Allentown tractor-trailer accident killed one man on I-78 on October 4, 2017. Two semi truck tractor-trailers collided with one another on Interstate 78 near Allentown PA. Sadly, a Philadelphia area wrongful death car accident closed Route 30 in Chester County on September 27, 2017. A car slammed into a tractor-trailer around 11 p.m. causing a man to be ejected from his car and killed at the scene of the Philadelphia wrongful death accident. Pennsylvania State Police responded to the auto accident and closed Route 30 for several hours. Police diverted traffic to Route 322. This wrongful death accident remains under investigation. Sadly, a truck accident on Interstate-78 killed a 25-year-old man. The truck accident took place on I-78 traveling eastbound outside of Allentown PA on September 20, 2017. The deceased hit a disabled tractor-trailer semi truck according to the Lehigh County Coroner’s office. The victim was transported to Lehigh Valley Hospital – Cedar Crest, where he died of cervical spine personal injuries. Two people were trapped in the motor vehicle and were freed by the fire rescue crew. Girl Killed in Easton Pedestrian Accident on Route 248

Sadly, a Route 248 car accident lead to the wrongful death of a young girl in Palmer Township near Easton PA. On September 22, 2017 a 12-year-old girl was struck by a motor vehicle around 8:00 p.m. on Route 248. The victim was taken by Suburban EMS to Easton Hospital, and then she was transported to Lehigh Valley Hospital where she was pronounced dead. The Lehigh County Coroner’s Office has yet to release the child’s name. An accident reconstruction and investigation is being conducted by the Palmer Township Police. It appears as though the victim was walking from the nearby Sheetz convenience store located on Route 248 in Easton PA. Read more

Sadly, on September 1, 2017 a Whitehall car accident caused the wrongful death of an 87-year-old Whitehall Township resident near Allentown PA. On August 24, 2017 an Allentown man suffered his wrongful death in a workplace accident at the Trader Joe’s warehouse, north of Bethlehem. Woman Killed in Motorcycle Accident on Route 222

Sadly, on July 30, 2017, Yvonne Rohrbach suffered her wrongful death in a fatal accident west of Allentown PA. Ms. Rohrbach was the passenger on a motorcycle driving on Route 222 near Mill Creek Road in Upper Macungie Township. The Lehigh County Coroner pronounced Yvonne’s death at 12:23 am. Bethlehem House Fire Displaces Family

On July 24, 2017, a fire broke out on a third floor of a Bethlehem house located on Elizabeth Avenue. At least one family has been displaced because of the Bethlehem fire. A second couple may also have to seek temporary housing. Bethlehem fire fighters did an excellent job keeping the fire from spreading to nearby houses. Bethlehem fire officials asked the American Red Cross for help arranging housing and food for all parties affected by this tragic house fire. Man Killed in Robin’s Diner Accident

Sadly, on July 7, 2017, Martin Moyer fell victim to a wrongful death accident in Robin’s Diner. Mr. Moyer was sitting in Robin’s Diner around 8:40 AM when a pair of tractor-trailer semi truck tires crashed through a window at the diner and struck Moyer. This premises liability accident lead to the unfortunate wrongful death of Mr. Moyer. One Killed in Bethlehem Accident on Route 22

Sadly, on July 10, 2017, Michael Biondo was killed on Route 22 due to a fatal vehicle accident. Mr. Biondo, age 46, was traveling westbound on Rt. 22 near Schoenersville Road when his vehicle crashed and overturned. A passenger was trapped in the truck and fire crews had to pry the vehicle open to extricate the passenger, according to police. The driver was taken by ambulance to St. Luke’s University Hospital in Bethlehem where he was sadly pronounced dead. There is no information available regarding the condition of the passenger. Sadly, on June 23, 2017, Shirley Lendl was pronounced dead as a result of an Allentown car accident. Shirley was the passenger in the wrongful death auto accident. Sadly, on June 15, 2017 a Lehigh Township car accident killed Alana Hein. According to the Northampton County Coroner, Alana Hein died at the scene of the car accident from multiple blunt-force injuries. Easton Car Accident Kills Bethlehem Woman

On June 2, 2017 an Easton car accident lead to the wrongful death of Audrey Rafferty. The fatal car accident took place on Lehigh Drive, according to the Easton police. Audrey Rafferty, a Bethlehem woman in her mid-60s died shortly after the car crash, at the Easton hospital. Thereafter, two Easton Emergency Squad ambulances arrived to the scene of the car accident in very short time. Additionally, a medical helicopter landed close by at Riverview Park in Palmer Township, but the injured victim was not loaded onboard. 1 Million Ram Pickup Trucks Recalled Due to Airbag Issue

Fiat Chrysler is recalling more than 1 million pickup trucks due to a software problem that could prevent airbags from deploying in the event of a rollover truck accident. This defective product issue has lead to at least one wrongful death and several other serious personal injuries.

The recall includes Ram 1500, 2500 and 3500 pickup trucks built between 2013-2016. The company will reprogram the problematic software in any affected trucks, free of charge. The recall will begin in June of 2017. Hopefully this will help prevent any future wrongful death truck accidents.

Nazareth Car Accident Kills Two

Sadly, on May 10, 2017, a wrongful death car accident killed Brenda Zellner and Jonathan Morales Lopez in Nazareth Township, north of Easton and Bethlehem. The car accident took place around 9:00 p.m. near Michael’s School Road. One other person suffered serious personal injuries as a result of the auto accident. On April 11, 2017, Carlos Hernandez suffered a wrongful death in a motorcycle accident. An Allentown resident, Hernandez was riding his motorcycle at the intersection of State Street and Lyons Road in Berks County, Pennsylvania. Pennsylvania State Police said Hernandez was hit by a motor vehicle attempting a left hand turn. Sadly, Hernandez was thrown off his motorcycle and suffered an abrupt wrongful death, as he was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. On April 7, 2017, a rollover car crash caused the wrongful death of Michael Cirino on Interstate 78 near Allentown, Pa. The single car accident occurred around 3:15 on the eastbound side of I-78 near Route 100 in Upper Macungie Township in the Lehigh Valley. The Pennsylvania State Police said there were two occupants of a vehicle. Additionally, PSP said the vehicle crash threw one of the passengers from the vehicle. On April 3, 2017, Cornell student, Peiran Shi was killed in a wrongful death car accident on Interstate 80 near the Pennsylvania, New Jersey border. Sadly, Shi was a 20 year-old student originally from China who planned to major in physics. On April 1, 2017, Tanya Heath was killed in an Easton car accident at West Berwick and Valley Street. Ms. Heath was involved in a minor car crash in the parking lot of the Coin Laundry Mat. At that time she opened her door but the car was still in drive, according to the Northampton County Coroner. At that point, Heath fell out of her car and was run over. On March 28, 2017, Easton man, Steven Sharkey, suffered a wrongful death in a head on auto crash on Route 31 in Hunterdon County. Palmer Township police originally seized a Mazda car in relation hit-and-run accident that killed pedestrian Zakaiyah Halley on February 8, 2017. Palmer police stated that after a thorough investigation, the Mazda 6 has been ruled out of any involvement with the Easton car accident. Investigators now believe it may have been a Chevrolet Impala that struck Ms. Halley on Route 248 as she attempted to cross the highway. On February 8, 2017, Zakaiyah Halley was killed while crossing Route 248 near the Palmer Mall in Easton PA. Sadly, a man suffered from a wrongful death car accident on January 31, 2017, when a police officer stuck him near the intersection of Cottman Avenue and Algon Ave. in Philadelphia. Damian Toalombo suffered his wrongful death while driving north on Route 309 when his vehicle collided with a car on Saturday, January 21, 2017. Tragically, the driver of the car who struck Toalombo was traveling the wrong way, according to Hilltown Township police. The driver of that car is charged with homicide by vehicle while driving under the influence of alcohol. Damian Toalombo was transported to Grand View Hospital, just outside Quakertown Pennsylvania, where he was pronounced dead at the age of 24.

A Bucks County woman has been charged due to an Allentown car accident that killed Christina Watkins-Rivera and Yartezi Ramos on January 3, 2017. Watkins-Rivera, an Allentown resident, and her granddaughter, Yartezi Ramos, suffered wrongful deaths due to the accident on South Fourth Street in Allentown, Pennsylvania. The driver who is responsible for the accident has been charged with two counts of homicide by vehicle and involuntary manslaughter, and six counts of recklessly endangering another person. Warminster police arrested the Bucks County driver on January 19, 2017. Authorities say she will be transported to the Lehigh County Jail on January 20th. Watkins-Rivera’s other two grandchildren sustained personal injuries in the Allentown car accident, as well. Thankfully, they have been discharged from the hospital.

DRIVER, PILUS, KILLED IN CAR ACCIDENT OFF ROUTE 222 NEAR ALLENTOWN

A heartbreaking auto accident took place on December 24, 2016 when a pickup truck struck a tree on Route 222 in Upper Macungie Township, near Allentown. The driver, William Pilus Jr., was pronounced dead at the scene of the Allentown car accident. Two passengers, Darlene Gordon and a 15-year-old boy, were transported to Lehigh Valley Hospital for treatment. Unfortunately, no one was wearing a seat belt.
