Motorcycle Rider Killed in Accident in Lower Macungie Township

Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family. On the evening of July 6, 2016, two motorcycles were traveling on Brookside Road in Lower Macungie Township when a truck traveling in the opposite direction crossed into their lane. The rider, Gerald Achey was thrown from his motorcycle and killed at the young age of 27. Achey was a Bethlehem resident.

We ask our friends to be please drive safely over the coming months. Traffic deaths increased 7.7 percent in 2015 and those numbers are likely to increase in 2016. Additionally, motorcycle deaths rose by 9 percent in 2015 that same time period. With drivers spending more time behind the wheel, car accidents in Allentown, Bethlehem and Easton are at an all time high.
