Lehigh Valley Fatal Sunday Train Accident – Lehigh County Train Accident Claims Life of 26-Year-Old Man
A tragic train accident in Lehigh County claimed the life of a 26-year-old man from Alburtis on Sunday, August 25, 2024. The victim, a young local resident, was struck by a train at the intersection of North Main Street and West Penn Avenue in Alburtis. The accident occurred at approximately 9:50 a.m., and despite immediate emergency response, the man was pronounced dead at the scene at 10:30 a.m. The Lehigh County coroner’s office identified the cause of death as multiple blunt force injuries and ruled the incident as accidental. The coroner took just under an hour to officially identify the victim after the accident. The fatal train accident occurred when the victim, who was reportedly walking southbound, attempted to cross the tracks, unaware of the approaching train.
